The eighth annual Darius & Friends benefit concert will once again take place in Nashville, Tennessee. The June 5 event will no longer be set at the storied Wildhorse Saloon, which has hosted Rucker over the years. Instead the country singer has opted for the historical Ryman Auditorium.
All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This particular charity is very near and dear to Rucker has raised over $800,000 for the facility, through concerts, silent auctions and his yearly golf tournament.
“This concert is a real highlight for me every year,” Rucker said. “And I couldn’t do it without the support of my friends who turn out to perform, tell stories and make this a memorable night for the fans, who are here from around the world.”
Guest for this year’s event include John Oates, Tommy Thayer (Kiss’ guitarist), Dan + Shay, Ronnie Milsap, and Michael Ray.
Tickets to “Darius and Friends” will be available on Friday, April 14 at 10 AM CT. This year Rucker teamed up with Ticketmaster to allow supporters to become #VerifiedFans. Qualified registrars that enter by Thursday, April 13 at 10 a.m. CT will receive a unique code to ensure they can buy tickets without worrying about scalpers or bots.
