The classic movie Caddyshack will now be a theme bar near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont. Bill Murray and his brothers will open the eatery, which they are calling Murray Bros. Caddyshack. The six brothers (Bill, Andy, Brian Doyle, Ed, Johnny and Joel) started the concept in 2001 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
For those who don’t know (and we did not), Bill’s brother Brian wrote Caddyshack. He came up with the idea while working as a caddy at Indian Hill Club in Winnetka. The menu features items like Spaulding’s Hack Salad, Crispy Potato Golf Balls, Double Bogey Cheeseburger, Caddyshack’s ‘Ode to Home’ Italian Beef, and Caddyshake.
Andy Murray released the following statement:
“In planning for Murray Bros. Caddyshack, we wanted to create a restaurant that captures our family’s love for the game and present it in a way that appeals to everyday golfers and families. Golf is evolving from its exclusionary practices in favor of a more open and fun-loving attitude, which can be seen in everything from today’s hip golf fashion to more eclectic golf fans and unique venues at golf tournaments. I’m glad the rest of the world is catching up.”
Murray Bros. Caddyshack will open in December
