Radiohead’s insanely talented guitarist, Ed O’Brien, is about to have his very own signature guitar. The “EOB Sustainer Stratocaster” by Fender will feature a special addition, a Fernandes Sustainer pickup, from which the the guitar takes his name.
This is fitting for the artist, as O’Brien has used the pickup since 2002. He did upgrade the model for Radiohead’s latest effort, A Moon Shaped Pool.
Earlier this week, O’Brien recently sat down with BBC Two, before their show at TRNSMT Festival, to discuss football, fans, and future tours. During the brief discussion, he talked about what was coming for the band. Vesides their last, and very controversial stop in Tel Aviv, Israel:
“Everything after Glastonbury in quite relaxed. Pressure’s off…We will hang up our Radioheads…We’ve been doing this for three years, and it’s time, everyone is going to go off and do their own thing for a bit. I think there’s a little tour planned for next year, but it’s basically down time.”
The band are wrapping up their world tour behind A Moon Shaped Pool. They also just reissued their phenomenal album OK Computer with tons of bonus materials as OKOKNOTOK. The album was dedicated by Thom Yorke to his longtime partner, Rachel Owen, who passed away on December 18.
