Sufjan Stevens Shares New Song “Mystery of Love”

The new film, Call Me By Your Name, explores love in Northern Italy in 1983. The movie is directed by Luca Guadagnino, and is a remake of André Aciman’s 2007 novel. It will release world wide on November 24.For the score, the filmmakers looked to avant-garde master Sufjan Stevens. For the soundtrack, he contributed two new tracks, including “Mystery of Love” which can be heard below.

The film is described as:

“Call Me by Your Name is a coming-of-age drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Guadagnino, James Ivory, and Walter Fasano. Based on the novel of the same name by André Aciman. It stars Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar, Esther Garrel, Victoire Du Bois, along with new, original music from Sufjan Stevens. In the film, a 17-year-old named Elio, living in Italy during the 1980s, meets Oliver, a 24-year-old academic who has come to stay at his parents’ villa, and a passionate relationship develops between them.”

 

Earlier this year, Sufjan Stevens released his new audiovisual live album, Carrie & Lowell Live. The live recording comes from a show in North Charleston, South Carolina on November 9, 2015. Carrie & Lowell live has also been released in video format on YouTube and Vimeo. The album features the highly sought after Sufjan and Gallant cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”
