Scott Putesky, aka Daisy Berkowitz, one of the co-founding members of Marilyn Manson, passed away over the weekend after four-year battle with colon cancer. Putesky was 49 years old.
To say that there would be no Marilyn Manson without Daisy Berkowitz is a huge understatement. After meeting Brian Warner
, aka Marilyn Manson in 1989, he taught the now famous singer all about recording, performing, and arranging. It was his talent at playing guitar, bass, keys, and drums that set the foundation for the rockers, who were originally known as Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids.
His time with the band came to an end in 1996 during the recording of Antichrist Superstar. For a few years after he would tour with Jack Off Jill.
In September of 2013, he was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer.
Rest in Peace Scott.
Jack Off Jill released the following statement:
“Saying good bye to Scott, friend, band mate, artist , hero.. RIP Scott – “always touched by your presence dear.” Daisy Berkowitz”
