Steep Canyon Rangers Announce New Album’ Out In The Open’, Share “Going Midwest”

Steep Canyon Rangers have announce a new album titled Out In The Open and fans won’t have to wait long to begin enjoying it. To give us a taste, the band has shared the lead single, “Going Midwest.” The full album is slated for release on January 26, 2018.

The band will head out on the road in early January for their 2018 tour. It kicks off in Chapel Hill, NC at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a two-night stand from the 12-13. They will stay out through April 27 in Richmond, VA at Maudlin Center for the Arts. The band will be joined by openers Steve Martin and Martin Short on select dates. Try topping that support bill!

Out In The Open sees Steep Canyon Rangers teaming up with Joe Henry, an accomplished singer-songwriter as well as a 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning producer (Solomon Burke, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Carolina Chocolate Drops) with a particular affinity for American roots music. They recorded the album at Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, NC, and produced by Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Let’s Active).
