“At (Red), we want to change the world and we want to have fun at the same time. There are still 400 babies born today who need not be born with the virus that were given to their mother in utero. We know how to fix this, we know how to stop this, and we’re gonna stop it. By 2020, we keep going, we really believe we can do it.”
U2 have enlisted the help of the greatest working rapper alive on their newest single. This will be their second with Kendrick Lamar. The first was “Get Out of Your Own Way,” a delightfully catchy song urging the world to quit being the hinderance to achieving everything they want. The track ends with Lamar speaking to the world. The second, “American Soul” dropped on Friday (November 16).
Recently U2 announced a brand new 12″ vinyl single for their song “The Blackout.” It is the lead single from their upcoming album Songs Of Experience. It is set for a limited release via Jack White’s Nashville based Third Man Records. It will hit stores in Record Store Day Black Friday (November 24). The B-Side features and “exclusive remix” from Jacknife Lee.
Songs of Experience is due out on World Aids Day (December 1). It’s the follow-up to U2’s 2014 album Songs of Innocence. Ahead of the release, fans have also heard the single “You’re The Best Thing About Me.”
The band also announced the first of their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour dates for 2018.
