Kid Rock Sued by Feld Entertainment Over “Greatest Show on Earth” Tour

Robert Richie, aka Kid Rock, and Live Nation have been sued by the owners of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Feld Entertainment is not happy about the name of Rock’s upcoming arena tour, and rightfully so. For 146 years, “Greatest Show on Earth” was the slogan and trademark of the now defunct circus.

Kenneth Feld, the CEO and Chairman for Feld Entertainment released the following statement to Billboard about the suit:

“This historic trademark has been an important part of Ringling Bros. for the past century, and it is recognized as a trusted and iconic brand of family-friendly entertainment. The Greatest Show On Earth continues to live on and will do so well into the future. We have no intention of surrendering the trademark or allowing it to be tarnished.”
