Keller Williams Announces ‘Petty Grass’, Tom Petty Bluegrass Tribute Concerts

The world is still reeling from the loss of Tom Petty. That cannot be stated enough. He left a palpable gap in the world of music and the world itself. On Tuesday (January 22), Keller Williams announced a tribute tour. The 2018 run will be dubbed Keller Williams‘ PettyGrass and feature a band called the Hillbenders.

Currently they have scheduled dates at FloydFest and Redwood Ramble. More dates are expected to be added in the near future.

The jamgrass favorite has shared a playlist on Soundcloud.

He told Billboard, “I’m kinda going to be the singer and the Hillbenders, I think are going to take the project to the next level. It’s a bit of a novelty in a sense that it’s a festival act and bluegrass versions, but at the end of a day it’s a celebration of songs that are super fun to play and, from my experience, people in the audience know them and it turns into a sing-along. I like when everyone in the same room is singing the same songs. I think people are going to react positively.”
